The Nature Conservancy

Texas' population of 25 million will nearly double by 2060, which will put incredible pressure on our natural resources. Already, one of the biggest challenges facing Texans is the availability of fresh, clean water - but The Nature Conservancy has answered the call. Using science-based conservation methods, we've helped keep the Edwards Aquifer healthy and protected more than 200 miles of rivers and streams, including Barton Creek and the Pedernales River. Our freshwater protection work recognizes the urgent need to conserve and protect water resources for our growing cities and lays the groundwork for future generations to live, work and play.
