Karoline dos Santos de Oliveira was born in 1986, in Curitiba, in a neighborhood called Boqueirão. Since childhood she wanted to be an artist. At the age of 16, she loved music and found herself in rap, both in language as well as freedom. In 2002 she joined Agamenom, a group from Curitiba. She spent several years "studying" her career and in 2010 Karol put some songs on the internet, she was so successful that soon was called to take part in the MTV program, Na Brasa. She then produced "Boa Noite" video clip and performed live at VMB 2011. This was the first great visibility of the singer, who became a big hit in Brazil.
From then on, she performed around the country, spreading her music, She also recorded her first album "Batuk Freak", released in 2013.
2013 was the year that Karol Conka was consolidated in the Brazilian music. Introduced as a big promise since her first concerts, it was this year that her music reached most of Brazilian public and took her first steps towards other countries. In 2013, for example, the rapper from Curitiba won the Multishow Award (one of the most important in the country) in the category Revelation Artist. Shortly after, the prestigious Portuguese band Buraka Som Sistema invited Karol to include her rhymes to the track "Bota", song that featured Adidas advertising campaign over five continents and was ranked the second-best song of the 2014 FIFA World Cup by the acclaimed Music Magazine Billboard. Furthermore, her "Boa Noite" track was chosen to be part of the world-famous Fifa 14 game soundtrack. The same song was played at Sun Life Stadium in Miami, in the break of the match where the Brazilian soccer team was playing against Honduras, in November. To wrap up the year, Karol gathered a crowd of 30 thousand people on the streets of Curitiba in a memorable performance at Virada Cultural(Round the Clock Cultural events) in the capital of Paraná.
It was also in 2013 that the partnership with friend and producer Boss in Drama resulted in the single "Toda Doida", track constantly played on the floors of most of nightclubs in the country. The song also won a fun clip, recorded at Morro do Vidigal, in Rio de Janeiro, featuring Bonde das Bonecas and Bonde do Passinho. The song was ranked one of the top ten of the year by Rolling Stone magazine.
These were some of the achievements that came after releasing the album "Batuk Freak". released for download in April, the album quickly spread through social networks reaching 22,000 downloads in the first week alone. This number only increased - supported by other links, websites and posts that spread the work. That may explain the huge amount of people singing together nearly every track at very live performances all over Brazil. The album appeared on several lists written by critics, journalists and bloggers as one of the best releases of the year.
In 2014, Karol took her first steps abroad. In addition to being invited to join N.A.S.A. in a Tokyo, Japan live performance. She made her first European tour and received awards and compliments from the press such as Le Monde, Liberation, Canal +, among others. She was also the first artist to sing in Portuguese on the traditional British radio BBC 1. At the same period, the prestigious Rolling Stone magazine, in its North American edition, indicated Karol as one of the artists that the world needs to Listen. Shortly after, the American magazine Time also praised the singer. In June, Karol returned to a big summer tour in the Old Continent, performing in Germany, France, Sweden and Switzerland, highlighting the performance at the Fusion Festival where she sang to 70 thousand people in Larz, Germany.
This August, Karol is represented by Buuum label, signed by Skol Music and under the control of the producer Zegon. As one of her first activities for the new label, Karol again flies to Europe, not only to perform in Paris and some French and Swiss cities, but also to record his new single, Tombei, in partnership with Tropkillaz. Launched in a live session on the internet in December 2014, the single is constant part of the
country's top radio programming, it was nominated for Rolling Stone's national magazine as one of the 15 best rap songs of the year and won the Best New Song Multishow Award.
2015 was the road year. In January an Australian tour, which featured a sold-out night at the Aurora Club in Sydney, and a remarking performance at the Sydney Festival, opening the concert for Seu Jorge and taking 40,000 people dancing to the sound of her beats. Back to Brazil, the music of Karol Conka continues echoing with the voice of her audience at concerts and festivals all over the country, such as Tomorrowland Brazil, Bananada Festival (Goiania), Cerrado Festival, among countless others. At the end of November, the artist flew back to more concerts in Europe, Vodafone Mexe Fest in Lisbon and a outstanding concert in Dublin.
At the beginning of December, Karol graced her audience with a new single: "É o Poder", produced in partnership with the Tropkillaz duo and released by Skol Music's Buuum Trax label, which in only 13 days exceeds 55,000 plays on SoundCloud and has become one of the top 50 viral of the year in Spotify, the largest music streaming network in the world.
In 2016 Karol Conka's agenda was busy. She sang in Brazil and abroad, performed at the Lollapalooza festival, at the opening of the Olympic Games and released the single "Maracutaia", featuring Lázaro Ramos and Thaís Araújo in the video clip.
In early 2017 she released the single "Farofei", produced by Tropkillaz, co-produced and co-authored by Boss in Drama, she had a video clip recorded in Japan directed by Kondzilla. In the same year she released "La La", a song about oral sex.
Later in 2017 she went into the studio to record her new album "Ambulante" produced by Boss in Drama.
In early 2018 Karol Conka paid tribute to the rapper Sabotage recording a version for "Cabeça de Nêgo" produced by Rica Amabis and Tejo Damasceno, from the institute label, in partnership with Boss in Drama. At the end of 2018 Karol
signed a contract with Sony label and released her latest album "Ambulante".
