Calling all Rock Stars! Pick a song, get styled up and rock out as your favorite star. Take home a recording of your video and share your rock star moment.
School of Rock Jam Tent
Members of School of Rock All-Stars will be interacting with AKL kids in a new and improved way! The All-Stars will be onsite for workshops and assist kids in handling different types of instruments.
Kids are free to rock out on any and all instruments. There will be a full rock band set up that includes: drums, mics, guitars, amps, bass and keyboards.
School of Rock Workshops
- Lyric Workshops – Create your own lyrics while a band supports your tune.
- Percussion Workshop – Jam with the band using tambourine, cowbell and other percussion instruments.
- Air Band Competition – Form a band and show off your rock star moves.
- Live Band Karaoke – Pick from familiar songs and rock out with a real band.
Hip Hop Workshop
The Q Brothers will teach kids how to scratch, beatbox and rhyme. Take home a CD of your phat track!
DrumZone
Get ready to make some rhythm and noise with Michael Marcionetti. They’ll be workshops scheduled throughout the day so get ready to bang some drums and make Austin rock!
Action Painting
