Tristan Prettyman is a singer-songwriter who probably spent a lot more time riding waves as a kid than she did strumming a guitar. But once she started teaching herself to play the instrument by ear at 16, her beloved surfboard started getting a lot less action. Prettyman now gets her thrills performing her intoxicating blend of jazzy acoustic folk-pop for a rapidly growing fanbase that started on the San Diego coffeehouse scene a few short years ago and has since spread across the country, thanks to her self-released Love EP, tours opening for the likes Jason Mraz and G. Love and Special Sauce and two albums for major-label Virgin Records, 2005s Twentythree and this years Hello.
