About the only thing more frenzied and seemingly out of control than the buzz thats surrounded Austins White Denim for the last year is the righteous racket the trio makes at its explosively danceable live shows. Although theyve already been tapped as a Breaking Artist by Rolling Stone and enthusiastically compared by critics to such chaotic predecessors as the Kinks, the Stooges, Captain Beefheart, the Big Boys and even later-day King Crimson, singer/guitarist James Petralli, drummer Joshua Block and bassist Steve Terebecki seem to be having way too much fun to be distracted by the din of expectation building for their full-length debut. As the Austin Chronicles Austin Powell put it simply in his review for White Denims 2007 EP, Lets Talk About It, Believe the hype.
