KLBJ’s ACL Cares Series

ACL Cares is the official home of great causes at ACL Festival. From getting on the list with Love Hope Strength to bringing musical training to at-risk youth through Anthropos Arts, there are a number of ways you can give back while at the Festival.

In advance of ACL Fest 2013, KLBJ on-air personality B-DOE is hosting a weekly interview series with a handful of the nonprofits that will be on site during both weekends of the Festival.

To kick things off, he caught up with Emily Stengel (Event Services Manager at C3 Presents) about the ways that ACL is giving back to the community – both at the Festival and throughout the year. The first installment also features an informative interview with Laura Huffman, State Director of the Nature Conservancy – check it out!

In Episode 2, B-DOE sits down with the founder of Love Hope Strength, James Chippendale, to talk about the enormous potential impact of joining his organization’s list of donors via a simple cheek swab. Again, another wonderful cause worth checking out while enjoying the music at Zilker Park.

Episode 3 takes a closer look at two well-known Austin organizations – The SIMS Foundation and Health Alliance for Austin Musicians – dedicated to providing essential healthcare services to musicians and artists.

In Episode 4, listeners hear from Dylan Jones, founder of Anthropos Arts, about the organization’s dedication to providing unique music education programming to middle and high school aged kids in the Austin area.

You can tune in to B-DOE’s show every Sunday this month to hear from a different nonprofit that will be at ACL Cares during both ACL Fest weekends. Remember you can also + ADD this post to your MyACL Festival to be notified when new episodes are added!
