When Tyree Morris created space to speak life and healing into a group of broken singers from across Denver he had no idea that almost a decade later this ministry would become his mission.
Today the arranger, songwriter and minister of the Gospel is blazing a trail across the U.S. with his ensemble – singing for church, conference and music festival events tipping 70,000 in attendance. These urban contemporaries offer a style that fuses Gospel, Hip-Hop, R&B, Retro-Funk, Jazz and nuances of Neo-Soul into an electrifying performance that is engaging, uninhibited and life-giving.
And while the musical style of Hearts of Worship is broad in scope, their mission is streamline and intentional – to use a non-traditional approach to music ministry to lead both believers and non-believers into the likeness of Christ.
The group’s performances include appearances at high-profile music festivals such as the L.A. Country Fair, Austin City Limits, Heavenfest and the Vail Jazz Festival; as well as multiple House of Blues locations. Additionally, they have opened for events featuring gospel industry stand-outs Rance Allen, Moses Tyson, Vashawn Mitchell, Da Truth.
Tyree Morris & Hearts of Worship celebrated the release of The Chronicles of Praise and Worship in 2009, which garnered them national distribution through Roo Records. They are currently working on their second project, We Declare.
