ACL Fest 2012: Sunday Recap

Rounding out the weekend with a stellar lineup and gorgeous weather, Sunday at ACL proved to be the perfect example of Austin’s favorite music festival at its finest.
Between soaking up the sounds from the likes of Alt-J, Gary Clark Jr., Two Door Cinema Club, The Lumineers and Die Antwoord, sun-drenched fans kept cool under the shady tent at the H-E-B-sponsored Zilker Beach, hydrated with frequent water stops at the CamelBak fillings stations and grabbed a cold one at the Zilker Drafthouse.
Early evening sets from The Avett Brothers, Iggy & The Stooges and Childish Gambino ushered in cooler temperatures and took the crowds from day to night, paving the way for Sunday’s epic headliners — The Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Overall, this final single-weekend ACL was bigger and better than ever and left a wake of fun photos, tweets and memories in its path. With nearly 75,000 people hitting the Park each day, the sheer scale and energy of ACL was perfect for discovering new buzzworthy bands, singing along to old favorites and best of all – sharing the experience with friends!
