ACL Fest 2009 – Day Two

"A little rain never hurt anybody"

“A little rain never hurt anybody.” That was the motto for the tens of thousands of people who made it out to Zilker Park yesterday for day two of the 2009 Austin City Limits Music Festival. While Friday was a day of sunshine and cool breezes, Saturday beckoned the Woodstock gods for day of music in the rain. The Rock Island Hideaway (aptly named) catered to the football fans. Eek-A-Mouse and Devotchka stayed dry with sets under the Wildflower Center tent, while bands like !!!, Grizzly Bear, Mos Def and the Decemberists played wet and wild shows to thousands of fans dancing in the rain that fell over the park. By the time The Dave Matthews Band and Ghostland Observatory took the stage, the skies had cleared once again, making the end of day two one for the books. See what everyone else was saying, from The Statesman, Austinist, The Houston Press. And make sure you’re ready for Sunday by checking out the schedule here. Don’t forget to keep checking our News site for updates and information, and if you’re at the Fest, make sure to Interact With Us for all the latest updated throughout the day. Enjoy some of the photos from day two, but be sure to visit our official ACL Fest Flickr for more shots. dmb Dave Matthews Band photo from Matt Ellis. Ghostland Observatory photo from Dave Mead.
